Irene Roozbayani, a Persian makeup artist who was very beloved in the UK, passed away after losing her battle with cancer, leaving online users heartbroken.

The muse, often compared to British singer Cheryl Cole, was only 41 years old and had been fighting stage four colon cancer. She was born in Scotland to an Iranian family and built a successful career, working with brands like Vivienne Westwood and traveling the world.

“Irene always had time to make you feel special, and she always treated you as if you were the only person in the room. She loved children so much, giving them attention and putting a little gloss on the girls, and she was loved and adored by everyone,” said Irene’s friend, Helen Ganley, to Chronicle Live.

“Her name was a brand, she was very respected, and when people hired her, they weren’t just getting makeup, they were getting her as a whole person. She did so much to make people feel comfortable, and she was kind and funny, which made people feel at ease on their big day,” she added.

Irene was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer earlier this year, but by the time she found out, it had already spread. After the diagnosis, she went through several chemotherapy sessions.

“Irene was very generous and happy, and she always loved making people laugh. Everyone loved her, and she was so friendly, always introducing me to new friends she had made while growing up,” added Yousef, Irene’s father.
